Re: “Immigration officers are operating with a new sense of mission. Now, ‘nobody gets a free pass’” (Jan. 27, Nation):

As I wrestle with shock and disgust with the brand new administration’s deplorable actions in opposition to immigrants, I’m investigating methods to be of assist domestically. These inhumane actions in opposition to individuals who do the roles others really feel are beneath them — and do them properly, for a lot much less pay — are unfathomable to me.

I might fill this web page with the injustices suffered by immigrants who, by the best way, pay taxes with out gathering Social Safety and are far much less more likely to commit crimes than the group so anxious to expel them.

So, whereas I search for methods to assist domestically, I do plan to start out by taking my enterprise to the immigrant-operated grocery shops, eating places and different small enterprise that can undergo now that almost all of their clients are reluctant to enter for worry of arrest. I urge you to affix me in supporting these hardworking institutions. And please examine different methods to assist these bravely combating for these households.

    Chris Salditt, Mukilteo
