    SYDNEY: A shark killed a diver off the coast of Western Australia on Saturday (Jun 6), police mentioned, the nation’s fourth deadly shark assault this yr.

    The person in his 30s was attacked by a 4.5m shark off Michaelmas Island, southeast of Perth, ambulance companies and the Western Australian authorities mentioned.

    The assault was reported round 11.25am native time, they added.

    Police mentioned the person was spearfishing when he was attacked by the lethal fish and was taken again to shore the place paramedics tried to deal with him.

    “Sadly, he was unable to be revived,” they mentioned.

    The state’s Division of Main Industries and Regional Improvement urged folks to take “further warning” within the space and to remain abreast of shark sightings within the space.

    The assault comes simply two weeks after a person was killed by a shark in northern Queensland state.

    And the killing is the second this yr in Western Australia – final month a person died after being attacked by an excellent white off Rottnest Island close to town of Perth.
