    WASHINGTON: The US army introduced a recent wave of strikes towards Iran on Sunday (Jul 12), saying it aimed to “proceed degrading” Tehran’s capacity to assault business ships within the Strait of Hormuz.

    The most recent salvo started at 9pm GMT on Sunday (5am, Monday, Singapore time), US Central Command (CENTCOM) mentioned on X, including that President Donald Trump “has directed the strikes to carry Iranian forces accountable”.

    Tehran condemned the newest wave of US assaults on its territory, saying they’d “rendered futile” all of the diplomatic efforts of the previous couple of months.

    “The US regime has additionally prompted the return of insecurity within the Strait of Hormuz and disruption of worldwide business delivery by brazenly interfering within the means of Iran implementing the required preparations within the Strait of Hormuz,” a overseas ministry assertion mentioned.
