    On the Board of Peace assembly Thursday in Washington, Trump was far more optimistic than he has been prior to now about the way forward for the United Nations, which was established on the ashes of World Conflict II.

    He mentioned his administration was going to be working “very carefully” with the UN including, “Sometime, I received’t be right here – the United Nations will likely be.”

    Trump mentioned the Board of Peace “goes to nearly be trying over the United Nations,” strengthening it and ensuring its services are good and it runs correctly.

    “They need assistance, and so they need assistance moneywise,” the president mentioned, by no means mentioning that the US failure to pay its dues is a key cause for the UN’s monetary disaster.

    “We’re going to assist them moneywise, and we’re going to verify the United Nations is viable,” Trump mentioned. “And I feel it’s going to ultimately reside as much as its potential. That will likely be an enormous day.”

    He didn’t say when any future funds can be made.

    Dujarric, the UN spokesman, mentioned final week that Guterres has been in contact with US Ambassador to the UN Mike Waltz “for fairly a while” and that the UN’s controller additionally has been in contact with US officers concerning the arrears.

    The UN mentioned 55 nations paid their annual dues for 2026 by the Feb 8 due date.
