    US raises pressure on EU to ‘deliver’ on non-tariff trade commitments

    BRUSSELS: America urged the European Union on Friday (Aug 14) to ease its legal guidelines placing accountability on massive corporations for the environmental and social affect of their world provide chains, arguing the bloc had pledged such measures wouldn’t hamper EU-US commerce.

    US Ambassador to the EU Andrew Puzder mentioned in a submit on X that the 27-nation bloc ought to honour commitments made throughout commerce talks with US President Donald Trump in Turnberry, Scotland, in July 2025 to handle so-called non–tariff limitations.

    The EU legal guidelines cited by Puzder require massive firms working within the EU, together with US corporations, to reveal their environmental and social impacts, together with working situations throughout their provide chains.
