    What could change for US teens on Instagram and Facebook

    DAILY TIME LIMIT

    Teen accounts would default to 2 hours of cumulative every day use throughout Meta’s apps, resetting at midnight. Messaging and long-form video don’t depend towards the whole. 

    Neither the curfew nor the cap could be modified by a teen with out a mother or father’s approval and the bounds could be tightened.

    If competing platforms undertake equal commitments, the in a single day block widens to 10pm to 7am and the every day allowance drops to 60 minutes per app, capped at two hours throughout all of them. 

    Notifications could be silenced throughout college hours, outlined as 8am to 3pm on weekdays between Aug 15 and Jun 15. 

    Inside 4 months, teenagers could be provided a feed that’s not algorithmically personalised. Like counts could be hidden by default and beauty surgical procedure filters barred.
